Requirements for Installing MSN Remote Record ServiceThe MSN Remote Record Service requires a broadband connection and that you run Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005. Most Media Center Edition 2004 PCs can be upgraded to Media Center Edition 2005 for a small shipping charge. Some older Media Center PCs may not support Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005. Consult your computer manufacturer and Upgrading to Windows XP Media Edition 2005 for information about upgrading.
Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 needs to be configured to use the Guide before installing MSN Remote Record. To use MSN Remote Record you must have a .NET Passport. If you use MSN Messenger, you already have a Passport. It's your sign-in e-mail address. If you're not sure if you have one, visit the Microsoft .NET Passport page for more information. Finally, MSN Remote Record only works on Media Center PCs in the United States and Canada. The possibility exists for MSN Remote Record to be available for use in other countries eventually.
