Watch, pause, and rewind live TVMicrosoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 gives you more freedom when you're watching TV. If the phone rings in the middle of your favorite show, you can pause the TV, chat on the phone, and then come back to your program right where you left it. You can rewind the program to see something that you missed, fast forward over parts of the program that are less interesting, and pause the TV show so that you can take care of other things. To pause the program, press the PAUSE button on the remote. To resume watching the program, press the PLAY button, or press the PAUSE button again. When you tune in to a program, your Media Center PC automatically starts recording a buffer of up to 30 minutes of live TV, even if you have not scheduled the program to record. This allows you to rewind and fast forward through the last 30 minutes of a show. To build up a buffer so that you can skip parts of a live TV show, tune to a channel, press PAUSE, wait five minutes or so to build up a buffer, and then fast forward through the parts you don't want to watch. When you change channels, Media Center will discard the buffer from the previous channel, and will begin to build a buffer on the new channel. You'll need to wait five minutes before you can fast forward on the new channel. To rewind the program, press the REWIND button. To rewind faster, press the REWIND button multiple times. To fast forward, press the FWD button. To fast forward more quickly, press the FWD button multiple times. To skip backward seven seconds, press the SKIP BACK button. Media Center must have been recording for at least seven seconds to have enough buffered TV available to skip backward. To skip forward 29 seconds, press the SKIP FORWARD button. You must have paused or skipped backward for Media Center to have buffered TV available to skip forward. |
